Our WONDERFUL Grandchildren
I realized this morning I have never written about our Grandchildren on my blog!!! Unbelievable! I have been trying for at least an hour to get this done and arranged as I want it, and I just cannot do it! It is so sad to be blog illiterate! So ... this is the best I can do right now - a blog in two parts!
We have been blessed with nine of the most wonderful, intelligent, gorgeous grandchildren EVER! (And no, that is NOT just Mammie pride talking! It is TRUE!)
I could go on and on about each of them - but I won't.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words .....

They hold our hearts in their hands!
Lexi - Our oldest (by five whole minutes!). So beautiful and so grown up! This girl keeps everyone on their toes!
Ashley - So full of wonder and delight! She warms our hearts and touches our souls. Oh, she's a sweet one!Skylar - A giving, caring young man - full of life, love and ambition! And the best soccer player ever! Watch for this boy - he is going to be somebody important! He has had us smiling since the day he was born.
Jordan - Can't you just see the strut? She is full of curiosity, energy and bounce! Smart and pretty and a nonstop talker once she gets going! What joy she brings to our lives!
Kaya - Her face covered with frosting! She frosted cookies for her second birthday. Kaya is our "pretty face girl"! Her smile lights our lives!
Willie and Nikki - These two are into everything - biking, skating, you name it! They keep everyone running!
Aubrey and Clint - Papa's little music makers - two of the brightest, happiest babies EVER!!!They amaze us every day and remind us why we are here.

D's 60th
Well, D turned the big six O last week! He's feeling old now!! So here's what we got to do --
We got to go to the Reno Event Center and see the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA!!! It was great! They put on the best show! Even a Christmas story to get us going into the Holiday Season! Daryl absolutely LOVED it! He has been listening to them all he could since we went last year. We made it an over nighter and spent the night at the El Dorado - nice easy going evening until show time - show - back to room - up for breakfast buffet - quick visit to Scheels - and home! Didn't think we would get to go this year since he took me to Reba for my b'day last month, then Julie gave him tickets for his birthday present! THANK YOU JULIE!!!
Daryl's just excited that not only did he get to see TSO, he also got me out of the house - and actually out of town(!!!) three months in a row now! A first since that great ol' hospital visit a year and a half ago!
Doing pretty good on that front. A bad attack for the last week and a half, but it's laid back now and didn't bother me on our Reno excursion, (just the usual pain in the back kidney crap) so that was nice.
Next on the horizon is hopefully a trip to Pocatello for Thanksgiving - weather permitting. Daryl's mom fell and broke her hip a few days before her 91st b'day. She is doing GREAT! Everyone is amazed at her recovery, but he is really wanting to see her. So hope for good weather and clear roads between here and Idaho next week so we can go!
Love to tyou all and hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

For Karen
Karen
So many confusing emotions
Flying about in my heart.
I miss you, I love you,
I’m glad you're at peace.
Yet --
I wasn’t ready
For you to depart.
Your smile, your laughter,
Your quick wit;
Your fortitude, your sharing.
Your strength, your great love,
Oh, your comforting arms -
Always there, always giving,
Always caring.
I will smile
When you cross my mind -
And I’ll cry a tear or two.
You’ll always be here,
Always part of my heart;
Oh yes,
My life has been blessed for knowing you.
My 53rd Birthday
Well, I am now officially 53 years old! My two year old granddaughter tried to steal my birthday so she could be five, but since I'm not ready for her to be three, much less five, I kept it for myself and went ahead and turned 53.And I had a great time doing it!I had a 'sleep-over' with a girlfriend the night before and woke up to my Happy Birthday with her. When I opened her front door to go home, I was greeted with SNOW!!! Neither she nor her husband believed me at first, but this Idaho girl did get honest to goodness snow for her birthday. (A total of five people took credit for sending me snow as a b'day gift!)I got myspace birthday coments, emails, cards, gifts and phone calls - a few which surprised me -and surprises are always nice! Then a nice dinner out with Timmie and family.Woke up the next day to a broken furnace - brand new furnace even!!! But he came over and got it going. and, a bit behind, we got on with birthdaying! A stop in Fernley to see those cuties that live there - and to pick up my favorite expected and loved birthday gift - a notebook with my two darlings on it!! Then on to Reno.Did great there! I received gift certificates from Lane Bryant and Penney's for my birthday, so we went to the mall - I got a total of four new $40.00 blouses for a grand total of $20.56, about $5.00 each! So I was pleased! (Even got a tiny bit of Christmas shopping taken care of!)Then we went to see REBA and Kelley Clarkson's concert. It was great! I forget how much I love concerts! There's really nothing quite like live entertainment! We spent the night in Reno (thanks for taking care of Hannah for us, sis), then to Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs for breakfast before heading home for a little more sleep and a lazy Sunday!I fight getting out and about like an ornery old bear since last summer, but I generally have a pretty good time when I give in and just go - this time, I had a wonderful time! Definitely a birthday I enjoyed - and one I will remember!Thank you, D, for a terrific 53rd!Thank you to all who thought of me on my special day!I love you all!
